What to Expect: Your Visit to our offices
We operate as a walk-in clinic to ensure we can see your pets when they need us most. To provide the best care possible, we follow a unique daily rhythm that balances scheduled surgeries with our walk-in hours.
How Our Day Works
To keep our patients safe and our doctors focused, we pause walk-in appointments during our dedicated surgery blocks.

Scheduled surgeries are dropped off at 7:30AM. Doctors perform procedures between 7:30 and 9AM.
We see walk-in patients during this morning block, providing medical consultations and wellness exams when they need us most.
Surgery/Procedure Block: Doctors are in surgery, performing procedures and diagnostics. Walk-in medical consultations are paused at this time to allow adequate time and care for these patients.
Walk-in visits resume from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, providing comprehensive care for your animal companions during the afternoon hours.

We adore your furry companions, but we know a packed waiting room can feel like a chaotic zoo, creating unnecessary tension for animals and owners. To maintain a serene atmosphere, we utilize a specialized arrival system:
Step-by-step check-in

1. Check In: Step inside to our reception desk to register your pet's arrival.
2. The "VIP Lounge": Head back to your car, which serves as a quiet, climate-controlled suite where your pet can relax away from other animals.
3. Direct Entry: As soon as a private room is available, one of our staff members will come to your vehicle to lead you straight inside for your appointment.
A Few Pro-Tips for Your Visit
Arrival: Since we are a walk-in clinic, we recommend arriving toward the beginning of our walk-in blocks (9:00 AM or 1:00 PM). This is especially important if your pet is sick as it gives us more time to diagnose and care for your pet.
Emergencies: If you believe your pet is having a life-threatening emergency, please call us immediately so we can prepare for your arrival.
Comfort: Feel free to bring a book or catch up on podcasts while you wait in your "mobile waiting room." We find our patients are much more at ease when they skip the lobby jitters!

If you are experiencing a longer wait in your "mobile waiting room," please keep this perspective: It usually means we are helping a family through their hardest day. The wait you are experiencing is actually a gift—it means your pet isn't the one in a life-threatening crisis today.

To protect our team’s mental health and well-being, we have a zero-tolerance policy for unkindness or verbal abuse. We ask for your grace and patience as we prioritize the lives of the patients in our care. We promise to provide that same dedicated attention to you and your pet as soon as it is your turn.
Transparent Billing & Accessible Care
We believe that high-quality veterinary medicine should be stress-free from start to finish. Our team is committed to providing clear financial information and supporting a variety of payment options to help you focus on what matters most—your pet's health.
To ensure we can continue providing high-quality care and maintain our clinic operations, we have updated our payment policies:
Payment at Time of Service: We no longer offer open billing. Payment in full is required at the time of your pet’s visit.
Existing Balances: If you have an outstanding balance on your account, the following is required to be seen by a doctor:
• 100% payment of the current day’s services.
• 25% payment toward your previous outstanding balance.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our practice sustainable so we can continue to serve the Northern Neck community.
Payment Methods
We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and cash. For flexible financing, we also partner with CareCredit and Scratchpay to ensure your pet receives care when they need it.
Pet Insurance
We work with all major pet insurance providers, including Trupanion and Nationwide. Our staff is happy to provide the necessary medical documentation for your claims and reimbursement.
